OUR AIM IS THE EDUCATION OF DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS FROM CRICKET PLAYING COUNTRIES. OUR HOPE IS THAT ONCE EDUCATED THE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WILL PLAY A PART IN THE FUTURE OF THEIR COMMUNITIES AND COUNTRIES.

The LBW Trust which was established in June 2006 had its origins in the chance meeting of cricketer, writer and broadcaster Peter Roebuck with a group of orphans beating out the rhythms of life in a Marimba band in Harare.

Launched by a group of like-minded cricket folk gathered for a barbecue at Bondi the stated purpose of the Trust is the provision of education and training to impoverished and underprivileged young people overseas and within Australia. Candidates for assistance by the Trust are chosen from cricket playing nations amongst developing countries.

Although we began on a small scale in Africa we are, in conjunction with CIDA College in Johannesburg, starting to broaden our horizons.

Recently, in partnership with Aid India, we are giving assistance to young people in Orissa in South–east India. The Trust is keen to link with other charitable organisations intent on educating students, and so their families and communities.
