What is your current campaign?

The LBW Trust has resolved to support the establishment of a tertiary education wing at The Heartland Children’s Academy (HCA) School project in Kathmandu, Nepal. The school is run by an Australian non-government organisation – The Centre for Learning and Children’s Rights. Nepal will be the fifth country in which the Trust has a footprint.

The HCA is service-orientated, with student-centred teaching methods. Classroom numbers are limited in an effort to build stronger student-teacher learning relationships. Teachers are trained in student management methods free from the violence and humiliation frequently used to discipline students in Nepal. The school specifically targets the disadvantaged such as the ‘‘untouchable’’ castes, the indigenous, disabled youth, orphaned children and the women of the country.

The LBW Trust is calling on its supporters to make a tax deductible donation to help launch the new tertiary education wing through our new trust fund for approved international projects. Please contact Tom Bowes on 02 9225 5627 or 0449 174 535 for details. We will gladly issue a receipt for your donation.
