A proud Maasai woman who has defied all odds, broken all the rules, and gained an education, she made an extraordinary bargain with her father at the age of 7 not to marry but to go to school. Today she is seen as a global light and visionary in education for a better world.

The evening will be hosted by Stephanie Brantz, Australian sports presenter. Stephanie began her television career in 2000 on SBS, and has since worked on the Nine Network, Fox Sports and is now on ABC.
