Dr Kakenya Ntaiya returns to Australia

Updated: Jan 3

In the lead-up to International Women's Day, 2018, Dr Kakenya Ntaiya returned to Australia to share the exciting news that, thanks to the support of The LBW Trust and the Women for Change initiative, 24 of her students will be commencing tertiary studies in 2018.

Three of these amazing young women will be coming to Australia, to take up scholarships at Western Sydney University, the University of Sydney, and UTS. This is a truly remarkable result from the humble beginnings of the scholarship program last year when Dr Ntaiya invited all of us to 'Be Bold for Change'.

Across the week, we were amazed to hear and share the stories of Sharon Tiyo and Linet Momposhi, two of young students who will be commencing studies in Australia in Semester 2, 2018. Linet and Sharon, two of the original cohort of the Kakenya Center for Excellence, are an incredible reminder of the power of education.

To hear Kakenya and Linet discussing 'Changing Lives through Education' on RN Breakfast with Fran Kelly, you can download the segment here.
