Fitzy, Wippa, and PM Scott Morrison play in backyard cricket match for BFC

What better backyard is there in Australia than at Kirribilli House?

In conjunction with Nova and Fitzy & Wippa, Batting for Change hosted the first Backyard Cricket match on Friday 23 November in the backyard of PM Scott Morrison. Fitzy and Wippa each had a side consisting of various celebrities and lucky radio listeners. In a highly contested match, Fitzy's team ended up with the trophy after a nail-biting finish.

As part of the event, Nova generously donated for each of the first five wickets taken, resulting in a $25,000 donation that will go an extraordinarily long way in supporting tertiary education for young women in India.

Celebrity players at the event included Scott Morrison, Guy Sebastian (who took home most valuable player honours), Sam Frost, Karl Stefanovic, Brett Lee, Tom Williams, Mel McLaughlin, and Ed Cowan.

A big thank you to Nova for their generous support and to the Prime Minister's office for hosting such an amazing event!
