Batting for Change returns to the Heartland School, Nepal
Thanks to our success in raising $149,000 last summer, we are delighted to announce that we are able to allocate funding from BBL05 to a third education project: the construction of six new classrooms at the Heartland School in Kathmandu.
Some of you may remember the Heartland School as the first project supported by Batting for Change back in BBL03: in 2014 Heartland constructed three new classrooms to expand its educational offering up to year 11 and 12 level. The college wing at Heartland opened in 2015, and its first academic year was a major success.
The new funding will be used to build six new classrooms to accommodate for the rapidly growing student base of the school. This will allow the college wing to expand its enrolment up to approximately 200 year 11 and 12 students. The development of this facility will bring a high quality educational opportunity to students whose families would not otherwise be able to afford it.
