Australia's new Governor-General, David Hurley, becomes patron of The LBW Trust

Updated: Jan 3

The 27th Governor-General of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd), has formally announced he will be the newest patron of The LBW Trust.

“I am delighted to become Patron of the LBW Trust. The work of the Trust to create educational opportunities for young men and women in the developing world is transformative.
It has the power to change not just the lives of individuals but the trajectory of their communities. It speaks to the importance of education, the power each of us has to make the world a better place and the richness of spirit that typifies our community.
I’m looking forward to supporting your cause and celebrating your efforts over the next five years.”

We are also pleased to announce that former Governor-General, General Sir Peter Cosgrove, AK, CVO, MC (Ret'd), will retain his position as patron of The LBW Trust following his retirement from office last month.

The LBW Trust is grateful for the continued support from both of Their Excellencies, and we look forward to working together to continue levelling the global playing field in education.
