Sydney Thunder host All Nations Social Cricket "Don't Give Up, Give Back" event

Updated: Aug 2, 2023

Abdul Razzaq is an asylum seeker who fled Pakistan in 2013. After arriving in Melbourne, he looked for ways to contribute to his new community and support fellow asylum seekers, and in 2014, he founded All Nations Social Cricket, a cricket club meant to help asylum seekers overcome their isolation and anxiety. All Nations has grown significantly since then, and this past weekend they hosted a Don't Give Up, Give Back T10 tournament at Doyle Ground in North Parramatta, held in conjunction with the Sydney Thunder.

The LBW Trust and Batting for Change recently expanded their partnership with the Sydney Thunder in an effort to engage local cricket communities to support tertiary education in developing nations.

Participants at the event included Hazara Cricket Club, NSW Police, Lankan Islanders, AAYA, and the tournament champion, Ocean 12.

LBW Trust Director Dee Brock represented Batting for Change at the event. Sri Lankan Consul-General Lal Wickrematunge and former Sri Lankan cricketer Russel Arnold were also in attendance.
